Morgan Camp Trip to Tebbs Bend

All compatriots and friends of the John Hunt Morgan Camp are invited to join us on a short road trip to the Tebbs Bend battlefield area this Saturday, June 16th. We will assemble in the parking lot of South Park Country Club at 0900 hours and depart from there. Car pooling will be available. We anticipate returning mid afternoon. Noble Roberts has arranged for Ms Betty Jane Gorin Smith to be our docent for the day. She is very knowledgable of the area and this should be a real treat for us.

We will first meet at the Jacob Hiestand House near Campbellsville on KY-210. From there we will go to Tebbs Bend. We will also visit the Atkinson-Griffin house, which was used as a hospital for Gen. John Hunt Morgan's men after the battle of Tebbs Bend. There are still blood stains on the floor of this home.

Please join us for this event!

SouthPark Country Club is located in the Fairdale area. From the Gene Snyder Fwy (841) take Exit 8 onto National Turnpike South. From National Turnpike turn East (left turn) at the stop light onto Fairdale Rd. Just after crossing the railroad tracks there will be a right turn exit ramp onto South Park Road. The entrance to the country club will be on the left just after the the series of 90 degree turns.
